Ipsec.lookupspi database variable

Hello all

We have ipsec tunnel in our environment and it's terminated in firewall. The traffic is passing through internet facing F5(through a ip forwarding vip)

We are facing issue now in this tunnel and I am planning the ipsec.lookupspi variable. I would like to know more about this variable and what happened actually if we disable it. If any one know about the variable and its use please explain. It will help me to do the changes ( exactly I need to know what is the variable , what is doing when it's enabled in ipsec traffic)?
