GTM VE 11.4.1 GTM and Monitors question

I have created a Developmental GTM in my lab and I am having trouble with the creation of servers. the GTM requires a Monitor for the server and the default should be "BIGIP." My list of available monitors is blank as well as the entire monitor tab. Has anyone experienced this? I have multiple VE GTMs and this problem seems to exist on all of them.

what I have tried: rebooting the GTM removing and re-adding the GTM service.

this is the error I receive when I attempt to add a 'server': "01070022:3: The monitor template /Common/bigip was not found."

then when I attempt to create a custom monitor I get this error: "An error has occurred while loading this page."

(this error will appear with out even entering information, and it happens only after I select an option from a drop down menu.

ANY information on this would be helpful. I thought I saw a bug for this in a post on the f5 website. but I haven't been able to relocate the article.

  • It sounds like the BIG-IP's configuration hasn't loaded properly due to possible configuration object / syntax issues. I'd first start off with the following commands and address any errors:

    tmsh load sys config

    tmsh load sys config gtm-only

/var/log/ltm or /var/log/gtm would be a good place to view some additional diagnostic info.

  • that seems to have worked!

I am now able to create the servers and add them to the data centers, thanks for the help.

would it have been a problem that occurs on boot?

That's great news, you're welcome! To see the full story, I'd start with the /var/log/ltm log. Find where the system rebooted and just scroll along until you find some interesting information. Repeat the process for the /var/log/gtm log as well.

    less /var/log/ltm
